Managing Cases in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC)

In Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), you can create, view, and update infection cases. Cases can also trigger from the

  • Assmnts tab when an Infection Screening Evaluation or Respiratory Infection Screener is locked. To prevent duplicate cases triggering for the same infection, it is recommended to use only 1 screening tool.

  • Med Diag tab when a new infection diagnosis is added.

After a case is created, you can assign an Outbreak ID and Cohort Tag to a resident case. This helps you track infection outbreaks in your facility. You can create Cohort Tags to identify characteristics shared between residents in your facility. For example, #redrash or #NorthDiningRoom. Outbreak IDs are provided by the public health department.

Note

Cohort tags are shared across all facilities in your organization.
