Order Search

You can use the Order search for any type of orders.

Procedure

  1. Clinical > Care Management > Orders. 

  1. Select appropriate filter parameters to find the order(s) you are looking for.
  2. You can narrow your search further by typing in the Medication box. This can be used for non-medication orders for example “Foley”

Note 

How to search orders under the Other category

Set your Order Date to After the previous day Or you can set it to On the current date, Or Leave Blank.

Set Resident Status to Current

Order Type: Therapy, Advance Directives, Consults, etc

Click Search

Orders in Queue

  • Do one of the following:
    • Clinical > Orders > Orders in Queue  
    • Clinical > Resident > Orders > Actions.

Queued Orders (Orders tab only)

Select 2 or more orders and click Batch to Edit/Activate or Delete multiple queued orders.

Expand and Collapse

Click + to view directions for individual orders.

In the Orders tab, click Actions to Edit/Activate or Delete individual orders.

In the Orders Portal, click Actions to Review Queue and edit all queued orders in the Orderentry window.

Additional Information

Formulary and Drug Checks are completed when orders are added to the queue.

Checks are completed again when the order is turned on.

Actions

  • Select Remove to move an order back to the queue for review later.
  • Select Delete to clear the order from review and delete it from the queue.

ColorCoding

Black font indicates the order that is showing in the Order Details above.

Activate Queued Orders

Click Activate Queued Orders to save all queued orders in this window.

Warning

Clicking Cancel permanently deletes all incomplete orders from the queue. 

Note

When saving, it is recommended to review any warnings that appear and make changes as needed. After saving, icons appear next to the order based on warnings received. Hover over the icon to see more information.

Pending Order - Pending Confirmation

  • Do one of the following:
    • Clinical > Orders > Pending Orders > Pending Confirmation. 

  • Clinical > Resident > Orders > Actions.

Note

When confirming an order that is not new, for example, a discontinue, click (+) to expand the order and click confirm.

Order and Scheduling Details

  • Confirm Order Details, make changes as needed.
  • Confirm Schedule Details, make changes as needed.

Note

For Pharmacy Initiated orders, if order details and or scheduling details are incorrect and you cannot make changes, click Strike Out and notify the pharmacy.

To save & confirm, strike out, and cancel

Do one of the following:

  • To confirm and make it active for the resident order, cick Save & Confirm
  • To confirm the order and go to the resident's next order that requires confirmation, click Confirm & Next.
  • To strike out the order, click Strike Out to strike out the order.
  • To close the window without saving changes, click Cancel.

 

Warning

In a Pharmacy Initiated facility, if STAT or Off hours orders are created by the facility you must ensure only 1 active order is available for administration. After confirming the Pharmacy Initiated order, do one of the following: 

  • Duplicate STAT orders received from the pharmacy are struck out.
  • Duplicate Facility Initiated and Off Hour orders must be discontinued.
