Documenting Immunizations for
Multiple Residents
From the Immunization Batch entry screen, you can record the consent and administration of immunizations for multiple residents at the same time. This provides an efficient way to record immunizations that are given to a group of residents, such as the influenza vaccination.
You can select residents to update the Consent status to consented, refused, or not eligible. For residents with a status of consented, their status updates to complete after the immunization is administered.
Note
Immunizations must be entered per consent status or by administration by a specific staff person. For example, all consented, then all refused or all administrations by Nurse Nancy, then Nurse Nathan and so on.
Procedure
- Clinical > Quick Entry > Immunization.
- Complete the fields as required.
- Select one of the following:
- Consent - Select option. After Consents are sent to the family members or residents and are signed as consented, refused, or not eligible, you must batch enter the results separately. For example, select all of the residents that consented to the immunization and record, then all of the residents that refused, and so on
Administered By - Select staff person, date, and type lot number. After administration of the immunization, you must batch enter the results separately. For example, select all of the residents that Dsmith administered the immunization to and record, and so on.
- Click Save.
Hints and tips
- To modify or add additional information to the immunization, you must go to the resident's chart and click update for the specific immunization. For example, you can update the body location in the resident's chart if it was not selected in Immunization Batch Entry.
- Use Printable View if you are collecting the immunization information on paper before entry into PointClickCare.
